Plinth Meaning
A plinth is the lower body or edge of a structure that allows the foundations to be raised to the same level. Originating from the Latin socculus, the word can also refer to other issues.
The term is used in other areas of architecture, to refer to the frieze or skirting board (that is, the strip or partition that is installed on the part of the walls closest to the floor to protect them from impacts or for aesthetic reasons) and to the part of a pedestal that forms part of the base.
